Cooley Law School is to prepare its graduates for entry into the legal profession through an integrated program with practical legal scholarship as its guiding principle and focus. Lansing, Michigan is where the WMU-Cooley story started in 1972. Founded by JudgeThomas E. Brennan, then Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court, Cooley began operations in a single story, rented building located on Grand Avenue in downtown Lansing.
